Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church 2010 Vision
Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church
2010 Vision
Through a series of brainstorming meetings that included almost everyone in the Church, the following vision developed to form the basis of the master plan for the Church for the next 8 years, leading up to 2010.
Always seeking God’s will for our Church, Gatlinburg Presbyterian will spread the Gospel and God’s Word through the Bible in stained glass and will offer a strong bond of Christian Fellowship to the many visitors in this area. The Church program will offer Sunday morning worship, an alternative worship service Sunday evening, Sunday School for all ages, weekly Bible study, youth fellowship, active women’s and men’s groups and small fellowship discussion groups. People with physical limitations will be able to move freely within the building.
The weekday programs of the Church will include Day Care for children 6 weeks to school age, after-school activities for young people, scouting programs and support services for home-based day care, the elderly and persons in emotional or physical distress. Some of this care will be provided through a parish nurse program.
Gathnburg Presbyterian Church will have an endowment of $150,000 to provide scholarships for individuals from third world countries to attend Knoxville College or Maryville College. Another $100,000 endowment will help support our Missions programs and provide for long-term maintenance of the Church facility.
As of mid-October 2002, we have raised over $1,171,927 toward these goals. Let’s begin by trying as hard as we can to complete one part of the vision at a time. We can do it!
